This is a post I wrote on my now-defunct BBH Tumblr account about what I consider to be the most creative and entertaining artistic interpretations of Bo's songs from his newest work, The Inside Outtakes (available to watch on YouTube and Netflix).
Enjoy, and please let me know if there are any others I should include in the list!
As you all know, Bo only uploaded two videos (so far!) from the Outtakes: Five Years and The Chicken. However, a number of devoted fans have taken it upon themselves to create incredible interpretations of his music from the newest special.
Let's take a look!
1. The Future: indivoidual
I have written about this animator's amazing videos before, but this is an absolutely stunning and emotional rendition of the song. Be sure to keep an eye out for a familiar-looking sock near the end! 🧦
2. WTFIGO: Isabel
I had actually interviewed this content creator back in August 2022, so I'm a bit biased, but I love her gorgeous voice and the fun visual effects for this short. Check it out!
3. 1985: Panathentic (formerly Adventures)
Everyone's favorite ode to Bo's dad has no official music video (yet), but this '80s-inspired version fits the bill perfectly. Check it out!
4. Five Years: Payton Justice
While Bo DOES have a music video for this song, Payton's own version provides some stiff competition. I especially love the lighting choices—SO creative. Check it out!
5. Microwave Popcorn: Davy
Another song that deserves a music video, Microwave Popcorn is given its proper visuals in this amazing rendition by Davy. Check it out!
6. The Chicken: TIE—GAVINPIKCOM and Iam Art of Tomorrow
Bo's own video is fantastic (obviously), but these two animators offer unique interpretations of the most powerful song in the special.
I adore how GAVINPIKCOM has a more homemade feel and includes Bo singing at the chicken's funeral (aww). Check it out!
And of course, the animatic by Iam Art of Tomorrow features professional animation and beautiful shots of the coop and meadow—plus the chicken in dental duds lol. Check it out!
I hope you all enjoy these music videos from the Outtakes, and stay tuned for more comedy fun!
